Today we are doing another craft for Project Show You Care!  If you are not familiar with Project Show You Care, it's a series I started that features charities that accept handmade items for donation.  Today I want to tell you a little bit about Project Linus®

If you are not familiar with Project Linus®, they are an organization that accepts donations of blankets for children in need.  A child that might be in the hospital, a shelter, or just in need.  The blankets are to help comfort the recipients when they need it most.

If you would like to know more about Project Linus®, please take a little time to check out their website.  They have locations located throughout the U.S. and you might find a chapter near you.  Also, if you would like to get even more involved, they are always looking for Chapter Coordinators.

They accept quilts, knitted and crocheted afghans, fleece blankets and more!  You can find links to their projects and patterns here:
http://www.projectlinus.org/patterns/

I made the no sew fleece blanket for donation and you can see how I made it here:

Here is a direct link to the written directions for the No-Sew Fleece Blanket:

To donate, go to the Project Linus® website and find a chapter, or drop off location near you.  If you don't have a drop off location near you, you can always mail it directly to:

Project Linus National Headquarters
PO Box 1548
Belton, MO 64012-1108

Here is the label that you can include with your package, so they know we at the Craft Klatch community appreciate their efforts and the great work they do:

Capes For Kids | Enchanted Makeovers | Project Show You Care | DIY Project | Craft Klatch | How To

Everybody has dreams and everybody struggles at some point in their lives.  Sometimes we achieve our goals and dreams right away.  Sometimes we take the long way to get there.  Everybody has a different path.

We can fall on hard times because of circumstances beyond our control and we can fall on hard times because of choices we make.

A bad decision, homelessness, disease, abuse, addiction, loss, being bullied may be a part of your story, but it’s not THE story.  You are not your disease.  Your are not what someone else says you are.  It may be a snapshot of your life, but it doesn’t define you.  You define you.

Whether you are fighting a disease, making better choices, getting out of a bad situation, or simply helping someone else.  THAT defines you.

An organization that deeply understands that is Enchanted Makeovers.  I encourage you to visit their site:  EnchantedMakeovers.org

For the last 10 years, they have been making over shelters, but their focus is the individual women and children in those shelters.  Go read their story and their mission.  It’s very personal.

We are kicking off Project Show You Care™ with Enchanted Makeovers and their Capes for Kids program.

This is a fun craft that will spark your creativity and empower some children who are going through their own struggle.  Help make them feel like the superheroes they are!

I made the No Sew Version and you can see it here:

I am excited to announce a new series that I am starting on Craft Klatch®.

For more information, see the video:

I love to craft and since you are reading this, you probably love to craft too!

What is Project Show You Care™?
Project Show You Care™ is a series on Craft Klatch® geared toward practical, useful, creative projects that you can make to donate.  A small gesture or a helping hand can make a world of difference for someone in need.

The tutorials and projects I have here will be ones that you can craft and donate.  The library will expand over time.  Don’t worry, there will be projects for all skill levels, so everyone can get involved!

The mission is simple:  Craft a little love to share.

The Crafting Dilemma
As crafters and DIYers, we like to make stuff….okay….we LOVE to make stuff.  We love to make stuff for ourselves, we love to make stuff to give as gifts and maybe we even sell some of that stuff.  In the end, it’s about the love of creating and hoping someone else appreciates our efforts.

At the same time, the trouble with crafting is we LOVE to make stuff and sometimes too much stuff.  Project Show You Care™ is an outlet for your creativity and craftiness and in the process you can help someone who really needs it.  Think of it as crafting with a purpose!

Worldwide Need
Since we are all located around the world and there is need worldwide, certainly you can choose to donate the item(s) locally to a charity of your choice.  I will be highlighting specific charities and specific projects on Project Show You Care™.  I will provide specific instructions, what they need and where the items can be donated.

Charities
I have been in touch with a number of organizations and discussed their needs.

Here is a list of organizations we will be working with:

Enchanted Makeovers: http://www.enchantedmakeovers.org
Project Linus: https://projectlinus.org
Comfort for Critters: http://comfortforcritters.org

Be sure to come back regularly for more charities and more projects!

Get the Word Out
Over time, maybe some of your favorite YouTubers and bloggers will also take part and share their version of the projects.  Be sure to spread the word and let them know!

Share this with your friends, family and co-workers, so they too can make a difference and Craft A Little Love To Share!

Incase you aren’t familiar with me, check out my channel, Craft Klatch® I do crafts and DIYs.  If you are not yet a part of the community, be sure to SUBSCRIBE.  We are a creative and crafty bunch!

May the sun always shine on you and may you be the light in other peoples’ lives.
